Challenge

The project required working with one of New York University’s hospital campuses to put a ramp and deck unit in for a modular building that was acting as a temporary Operating Room suite. We originally had planned to use the customer’s provided drawings. However, after a site visit from our project managers we realized that many of the dimensions were inaccurate.

Solution

Our in-house CAD team immediately redesigned the ramp, decking, and steps solutions and were able to resubmit designs to the hospital engineering team for approval. The ramp required a large number of custom pieces due to a fully enclosed and canopied walkway. The Commercial Access team was able to complete the redesign, gain approvals and install the ramp to meet the hospital’s stringent requirements.
